Instead of a masquerade, we will be having
a hall costume contest. The theme this year will be dressing as literary characters, be they protagonists from books or famous scribes like Edgar Allan Poe. Great prizes will be awarded!
(Disclaimer: attending authors, even if they're real characters, won't get prizes for simply dressing as themselves.)
If you're yearning for more costuming, we have a special arrangement with the organizers of MatsuriCon, a fun anime convention that's happening Aug. 28-30, 2009 at the Holiday Inn, Worthington ... just a mile from Context!
So, if you'd like to compete in (or just watch) the MatsuriCon cosplay competition, just take your full-weekend Context badge to their registration table, and you can get into as many MatsuriCon events as you want for $10.
