Finlay, McHugh, Landis among Hugo finalists

TorCon III announced the finalists for the Hugo Awards (available here) and Context connections abound.

Charles Coleman Finlay, who will be conducting our Writer's Workshop this year, is a finalist for both the Hugo for Best Novella (for "The Political Officer") and the John W. Campbell Award for best new writer. (Finlay was also a finalist for a Nebula for Best Novella).

Geoffrey Landis, a frequent member of Context as part of the Mars Society's Ohio Chapter, is a finalist for Best Short Story for "Falling Onto Mars." That story is available as a free download from Fictionwise.com, or in pdf and rtf file formats from the author's website.

Maureen McHugh, a frequent Featured Guest at Context is a finalist for Best Novelette for "Presence."

Both "Presence" and "The Political Officer" (as well as two other finalists) are available online from The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction's website. F&SF's Gordon Van Gelder is also a finalist, in the Best Professional Editor category.
